Curriculum Vitae
Dr. Claudius Söffing studied law at Heinrich Heine University in Düsseldorf, where he passed his first state law examination. During his studies, he focused on tax law. He completed his legal clerkship in the district of the Higher Regional Court of Düsseldorf, where he subsequently passed his second state law examination. After passing the second state examination, Dr. Claudius Söffing joined the North Rhine-Westphalia State Tax Administration, where he served as a department head. After three years, he moved to S&P Söffing Rechtsanwaltsgesellschaft mbH (now S&P Private Clients). While working, he completed a doctoral degree with a focus on tax law.
His legal practice focuses on succession planning for private individuals and entrepreneurial families, particularly family-owned businesses, with a special emphasis on real estate assets and real-estate-related tax issues.
Dr. Claudius Söffing regularly publishes articles on tax law topics, including in the ”Steueranwaltsmagazin”, and is a coauthor of the textbook ”Private Veräußerungsgeschäfte und gewerblicher Grundstückshandel“ (NWB Verlag).
He is also a member of the Executive Board of the German Bar Association (DAV), Tax Law Working Group.
